FIRST Lego League (FLL) Qualifying Regional is a program dedicated to introduce and inspire youths into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
New teams can expect to pay approximately $900 for team registration, a robot kit of parts, and a Field Setup Kit. There will be additional costs for event participation, travel, food, team shirts and other optional items.
Veteran teams will pay less since the robot set can be used year after year. However, team registration must be purchased every season.
Grants are also available locally, regionally and nationally by many corporations.
For more information refer to the FIRST website.
With the goal of inspiring youths into STEM, FLL also teaches participants learn about friendly competition, helping one another through teamwork, and gracious professionalism. With the help of mentors and teachers, participants work together to find solutions to problems while having fun!
Team's will research problems that people encounter in space and come up with solutions.
Once a problem is identified, teams will try to create new solutions using the research found on the problems they’ve identified, teams will create their own unique and innovative solution to inspire future inventions.
